The Campbell trip to the Sahara Desert.

We left March 19th and returned April 5th. Our team of 46 people was headed to the Sahara refugee camps in Algeria. The refugees fled from Western Sahara when Morocco and Mauritania invaded their country. There are 160,000 people spread out into 4 camps in the Sahara Desert. Algeria gave them some land in the desert to flee to. The Saharawi have been living in the desert for about 30 years. Christ the Rock Community Church sends teams there every March and every July to hold vbs programs and in July a concert.
This march Dad,Mom,McKayla and myself joined the team. It was my second time and the second time for my dad also. Dad got sick this time around and McKayla had some stomach aches the first day. Mom and I were sick in Frankfurt on the way home.

Our team had two families from south Carolina join us. The teen agers from the two families brought their instruments that they used in their band. They had two concerts in the camps.

Mr. Wagner, who was a dad to four of the teens, was a dentist. He pulled teeth in the camps, with his eldist son as his assistant.

On February 10,2006 the Sahara Desert flooded. Jessica who was teching english at the english center called Ben Lenz on his cell phone and got through into the basement of our church wich normally never gets good tower, especially from over seas. Within ten minutes our team wich was having our training up stairs was in a circle and was praying and the rain stoped acording to Jessica. Conclusion: never ever under estimate the power of rpayer. There was major damage and our team and many other teams provided relief for the camp of Smara and others. As you can see in the photo, the damage was overwhelming. Tons of people had their homes destroyed. The Algerian goverment gave tents to everyone who had no home. Thank you for your prayers and support for this trip. God will multiply your gifts ten fold.
